HISTORY OF THE MACEDONIAN LITERATURE
(Macro project)

The macro project is connected with the first decade of the research development of the Institute of Macedonian literature. Its objective is research and collection of materials for competion of the History of the Macedonian Literature in multivolume edition. All the employees of the Institute were engaged in the completion of the macro project, working on topics in the frames of sub-projects, coordinated with the activity of the research departments. The research also included cadre from the Philological faculty in Skopje and some other research institutions. The results of the projects are: established materials in monographic editions, studies, articles and other types of research papers that are publicly promoted, than card-indexes, original material, catalogues, bibliographic surveys that represent valuable archive documentation for the future researches. In order to publish the materials of the research and the acknowledges of the literary science, an Editorial Board was formed in following composition: Prof. Georgi Stalev, Ph.D., President and Prof. Vera Stojchevska-Antich, Ph.D., Prof. Tome Sazdov, Ph.D., Prof. Gane Todorovski, Ph.D. and Prof. Milan Gjurchinov, Ph.D., members. The first and the second volume – Medieval Literature by Vera Stojchevska-Antich and Oral Folk Literature by Tome Sazdov were published in 1997. The third volume Macedonian Literature 1800-1945 was published in 2001-2002, in two parts Macedonian Literature in the 19th century and Macedonian Literature in the first half of the 20th century. The volumes Macedonian Literary Critics, Literatures of the Nationalities in Macedonia and Macedonian-Foreign Literary and Cultural Relations are yet to be published. (top)
STUDY RESEARCHES OF THE MACEDONIAN LITERATURE

The realisation of this macro project was organised in theme sections in the frames of subprojects, coordinated with the activity of the research departments. The results of this macro project are: complex and systematic research of the scriptorium centres, authors, works, literary phenomenon and processes in the Macedonian literature from all the evolution periods: oral literature, medieval literature, contemporary literary achievements, Macedonian-South Slavic and Macedonian-foreign relations and influences, as well as certain theoretic perceptions of minor narrative forms, novel, poetry and other genres. The research activities on this project resulted in several monographs, substantial studies and other research papers. (top)
