The book is a selection of research papers, written in a extended period of nearly 15 years, which illustrates one segment of the authors’ work in the Institute of Macedonian literature. The collection concentrates on topics from the domain of the comparative Slavistics, analysed with comparative methodology and for the most part comprises papers that emerged from several projects of the Institute’s Department of Theory of literature and Comparative literature. Those projects are the following: The interactions between the Macedonian and the world literature, The critical models in the Macedonian literature in the light of the world literary theory, The imagology – the image of the Other in the Macedonian contemporary literature. The involvement of Stojmenska-Elzeser in these projects with topics that relate to Macedonian - Russian, Macedonian - Czech and Macedonian - Slovak cultural and literary relations testify of her profound interest in comparative Slavistic research. This book is a partial contribution to the advance of this issue in Macedonian literary science. (top) |

This monograph thoroughly and systematically analyses the translation as one of the most significant literary and cultural activities that involves all the most valuable names of the Macedonian literature. Thirtyeight translators are chronologically systematised. Their translations of literary works from other literary and linguistic environments placed Macedonia within the big family of the cultural nations in Europe. Furthermore Macedonian original literature was being created parallel to the translation processes,. The author by means of his literary engagements properly follows and comments the fights for creation of a separate Macedonian language (Pulevski, Bozhigropski) encircled with Krste Misirkov’s book “On Macedonian affairs” (Za makedonckite raboti”).(top)
